While this upcoming Mega Evolutions update seems like an obvious next step in the progression of Pokémon GO's gameplay, it feels as though Niantic's focus is even further removed from what fans are wanting from the game's experience. Most recently, many players spoke out against the controversial announcement that confirmed Pokémon GO Raid Passes will be removed from weekly boxes, a mechanic previously introduced in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, which was widely praised by players. Pokémon GO fans have been struggling with their views both on Mega Evolutions and Niantic's treatment of many fan-favorite features as of late.
